You did the work. Board certification helps the public recognize it.

Neuropsychology is a vast field, and the hardest part of preparing often isn't the studying itself — it's finding the time, the energy, and a place to start when everything feels essential. Boards Boot Camp hands you the structure: a thorough, well-rounded plan, laid out week by week, with a small cohort moving through it together. You already know how to execute. This is the plan you take and run with.

WHAT BOARD CERTIFICATION IS WORTH

The highest credential in the field — and it pays off in more ways than one.

Often Required

Most academic medical centers and VA positions require board certification within five years of hire, and it typically comes with a bump in pay.

Travels With You

Once you're boarded, the credential goes with you into any role, setting, or stage of your career.

Expert Work

Board certification strengthens your standing for high-value expert roles — forensic and IME work, consulting for startups, and adjacent positions that weight the credential heavily.

The exam isn't the hard part.

Board prep stalls for all kinds of reasons — and almost none of them are about ability.

Maybe you're burnt out. Training took its toll, and the thought of opening one more textbook is more than you can summon right now.

Maybe you're stretched thin. Between a caseload, a partner, kids who need you — and your own life somewhere in the mix — finding hours to study feels impossible, and adding one more thing to the pile is exhausting just to think about.

Maybe you're overwhelmed. Neuropsychology is an enormous field, and staring at all of it at once, you have no idea where to even begin.

Any one of these is enough to leave the exam sitting in “someday” for years — sometimes as long as seven. Not because you can't pass it, but because there's always another priority with a stronger claim on the time.

That's what Boards Boot Camp is for:

  • A structure that decides what to study and when, so you're never facing a blank page or the whole field at once.

  • A pace built in manageable pieces that fit around real life — a caseload, a family — instead of demanding you clear the decks first.

  • A cohort moving alongside you, so momentum and community carry you through the weeks your own willpower runs low.

You don't have to create the plan. You just have to show up and follow it.

A structured prep system, paced over 24 weeks.

Boards Boot Camp takes the full breadth of what a strong candidate should know and organizes it into a guided, week-by-week progression. You don't build the study plan — you take one that's already built and organized by someone who's walked this exact path, and you run with it.

This isn't a “teach to the test” shortcut — and it couldn't be. Christine sat for the exam years ago, and the test evolves over time. What carries candidates through isn't gaming a specific version; it's command of the content — and that's what her mentees have succeeded on, year after year. Boards Boot Camp is built the same way: a comprehensive curriculum designed to make you a genuinely well-prepared neuropsychologist, the kind of preparation that serves you in the exam room and long after it.

A Guide in Your Corner

A double board-certified neuropsychologist who has walked this exact path, there to support you through it

  • Tips and tricks for remembering dense content
  • Support and the occasional comedic relief — for when you just need to vent to someone who gets it

Boards Boot Camp is built for you if you're:

  • A licensed neuropsychologist preparing for the ABPP/ABCN written exam
  • Tired of assembling your own prep from scraps and ready for a system
  • Motivated by structure and a cohort, not one more solo attempt that stalls out
  • Serious about earning the credential — and ready to stop putting it off

It's not a shortcut, and it's not for someone looking for one. It's for people who intend to do the work. You already know that's the only kind of work that counts.

MEET YOUR MENTOR

Christine Ghilain, Ph.D., ABPP-CN

Christine is a double board-certified clinical and pediatric neuropsychologist who has been through the ABPP process herself — and now spends her time raising the standard for the field she practices in.

She's the author of the first Routledge textbook on training psychometrists, a Forbes Business Council member, and the founder of The Brain Health Consultant, where she helps neuropsychologists build credentials, capability, and practices they own.

She built Boards Boot Camp for one reason: preparing for the boards should feel clear and supported — so more qualified neuropsychologists reach the credential, and the public gets the doctor they deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to have applied to ABPP before I join?

Yes. Boards Boot Camp is built for candidates who have already completed their credential review and plan to sit for the second ABPP/ABCN written exam of 2027. The 24 weeks are paced to carry you right up to that exam, so you'll get the most out of the cohort if that's your timeline.

  • Is this live, self-paced, or both?

Both. You'll get Christine's study syllabus mapped across all 24 weeks, along with her topic-by-topic outlines to anchor the key points each week. Once a month, the whole cohort meets for a live check-in call to work through questions, share strategies for locking in tricky details, and unpack the complex topics that just aren't sticking.

  • What happens after the 24 weeks?

Boards Boot Camp is the first step of a larger journey. Graduates can continue on through the next stages of the program as they move toward full board certification.

  • What if I don't pass the exam the first time?

Christine can't promise or guarantee any particular outcome — no honest mentor can. But her track record mentoring candidates one-on-one makes her confident that the added structure and cohort support only strengthen your chances. The testimonials above speak to that.

  • Is this affiliated with ABPP or ABCN?

No. Boards Boot Camp is an independent preparation program — it guides you toward the credential; it doesn't grant it. Christine receives no inside information from ABPP, ABCN, or their affiliates about test content, materials, or changes — nothing beyond what's shared with the public. She simply believes more people should get boarded, and wants to help them get there.

The exam isn't going to prepare for itself. Neither is the next year of putting it off.

You've already done the hardest part — the training, the supervised hours, the credential review behind you. Boards Boot Camp is how you turn all of that into the credential that lets the public recognize it, on a timeline you can actually see.

Limited seats, small by design. Let's get you boarded.
