Geriatric Neuropsychological Evaluations

A geriatric (older adult) neuropsychological evaluation assesses whether you or a loved one is showing declines in mental functioning—such as thinking, problem solving, memory, or concentration—beyond what would normally be expected for your age.

What to Expect During a Geriatric Neuropsychological Evaluation

Geriatric evaluations can help answer questions such as:

  • Do I or does my loved one have dementia?

  • Can I still drive safely?

  • Are my memory changes a normal part of aging?

  • Can my aging parents still live independently, or is it time to consider home support?

Through a combination of client and family-member interviews, along with structured tasks (including paper-and-pencil tests, tablet-based activities, or computer tasks), Dr. Ghilain provides a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive functioning in older adults.
